New IGFA All Tackle Record Yellowedge Grouper Caught in Virginia
By Dr. Julie Ball Published: July 7, 2008 Print Email
New IGFA All-Tackle World Record Caught 12 March 2008 aboard the Rudee Angler skippered by Captain Skip Feller, sailing from the Virginia Beach Fishing Center. Capt Skipper had taken a group of anglers to the edge of the Norfolk Canyon where his crew had a good catch of grouper, including a huge yellowedge grouper. Back at the dock, I was honored to help process the yellowedge as a pending world record, which weighed enough to trump the existing world record. The fish was just approved as a new IGFA All Tackle World record!
