Greetings

After 10 years in Florida, my wife and I are returning to the Annapolis area. (Wife got transferred, me goof-off [wink]).

....and like the jerk that I am, I let my Maryland commercial crab license expire when I moved ten years ago.

Anyway, where should I shop for crabbing supplies? I use to run traps as well as a short trot line. Give an old geezer (57) some direction on where I can get some good line, bull lips, plastic barrel, weights, floats, etc. plus whatever the trap of choice is nowadays. I need a mentor, and I'd be pleased to tell you exactly where and how to hook up a Tarpon on your next Florida trip. Thanks, JK

Welcome to the Crabbing Board.

Topless traps are the choice of most crabbers.
Most guys make their own floats from available materials.

In late Jan. 2007 there will be a watermans convention in OC that you should attend. Vendors are there to sell their wares. A bunch of TF board members usually attend and have dinner and BS.

Also, in Jan/Feb we hold Snood Fest. It's an annual event that the Crabbing board members attend and share crabbing info. You should not miss this event. It is very helpful. Great food too!!!

Laws pertaining to crabbing licenses have recently changed. There are changes that may be helpful in allowing you to get your license or at least a LCC license quickly without too much effort.

Let me know if I can be of any help to you.
