My ride has been high and dry for a while due to schedule but some buddies of mine have been going and up until the week before Christmas were nailing schoolies to 26" with a few keepers mixed in, mostly at the rips with eels and bucktails. A few tog and sea bass on the nearshore and offshore wrecks and reefsites. My last trip (Mid-November) we only had 3 stripers with a short, a 36" and a 42" while chunking bunker but more than likely the chunking bite is done. If the wind lays down at all on the weekends, may try 1 more trip with some eels. Good luck if anyone is diehard enough to go out for the end of the year stripers. For the surf guys, heard a report of some big blues last week in the surf but only 1 short striper.

Fished 12/30. Beautiful day. Started trolling H&C shoal at slack tide. No hits. Moved over to the 8's and drifted eels on an incoming tide. Had only one bite in about 90 minutes. Moved back to trolling H&C and got two shorts. Heard one report that fished were schooled off Fenwick. Can anyone confirm that report?

Yes but the FIS is out in the EEZ which is a no striper zone and is being patrolled by the GC heavy , not worth the fines to chase them there when lots of fish still being caught in the mouth of the Del. bay on BT's.

when talking about Fenwick, most likely they mean Fenwick shoals which always hold lots of fish, but thats about the last place you want to fish it's about the #1 place to get busted and there is no C&R in the EEZ,tons of just short stripers from the middle of overfalls to prissy wick/cape may rips about 1 in 25 is a keeper, some of the Jersey guy's are catching well over a 100 fish a day right now....
