Launched out of Lynnhaven ramp today and on the way back, waiting in the que, I overhead what I thought was a VMRC rep. (women) who was interviewing fisherman. Asking about numbers kept, times in the year, C&R, etc.

Does anyone know about this?

Thanks

John

I would bet that it was the MRFSS (recreational angling survey) that is run by a contractor working for the National Marine Fisheries Service.

For a dock side survey they ask to measure the fish that you kept, how long you fished where you fished. . . and for striped bass they are supposed to ask if you caught each fish in the bay or the coastal waters.

They use this data to estimate the total landing for each species.

---TOm , Do you know anyone that could include Gill tag checking with a wand --These were fish raised in Md. Hatcheries during the 85---90 Era. --Some lunkers may have these in their gill plates ---geo.
