Help me pick a time/place for a family fishing vacation this summer.

I work in a hospital so I need to my summer vacation request in now. We would like to tow our 25' Pursuit down to the shore and I can't decide where to go and when. Would like to go somewhere with a shot at some Offshore game, but also be able to catch some critters closer to shore with the kids. Beaches with activites would be nice. We went to OBX last year, my dad would like to try something a little closer to DC area. I can go any time between June-Aug. Any suggestions for decent fishing? Thanks.

You can have some great bluefin action in OC in June-July depending on the temps. Football size would be perfect for the youngins. LOADS ,,,I mean LOADS of bluefish inshore...nice ones too!!. Next choice ( actually my first) Hatteras

Thanks man. Hatteras was last August trip, and it resulted in a nice Sailfish, Wahoo and several keeper flounder for the kids. I would like to go there again but my dad wants to mix it up. Is there anywhere we could rent and still be able to keep the boat parked in the driveway without getting jacked in O.C? Thanks again.

I know there are a few guys that have places in OC for rent. I would put up a post on all the boards and see what it brings.
