I assume you've been browsing boattrader and yachttrader? At least 25 knot cruise will prob have to be a fairly recent boat. Whats your price cap?

Ben, I been lookin at all the web sites for a good used boat, If I was gonna stay inshore all the time, no big deal, but I love bluewater, and out of Vb a 20 knt cruise is a long arse boat ride

28 knot cruise with twin 200 hp diesels? I doubt he could hit 28 knots wide open.

i agree Darren, Bill's Reel Fancy, a very similar boat is around 24-25 knots cruise with twin 250 Cummins, a lot more powerful than those Volvos

Well its a long 55 mile cruise for me too. I had similar requirements but was flexible on cruise speed, especially if I would get efficiency and reliability in return.
Maybe a Carolina Classic 28 with 330 cummins shoehorned in?

Just finished my search with a Pursuit 3000. Several out there on the east coast. The KAMD42s won't get 25 kts top end but the KAMD44s cruise 25 kts and max 28-29 (without tower). There are occassional ones with Cummins that are a bit faster.

I agree I saw a Custom Built 48 express with twin 3406 CAT's for a combined 1160 HP it had a 25 knot cruising speed. I think you'll need more HP to get the speed you want. Just my .02 worth. DP
