I should actually say white gals...since that's what they were. I took my dad and daughter Pickerel fishing from shore Sunday, but the water was very dirty and we kept getting our lures tapped, but no hookups. Everywhere we cast, the lures got tapped. On a hunch, I switched to a small grub. Seconds later, we all had the fattest, most egg-laden White Perch that I've seen in a while. We only had a very short time to fish, but could have filled buckets had we stayed (we actually didn't keep any... I know the Whites are doing ok, but I can't get myself to keep them when they're full of eggs).

Goose, the water quality in my creek has been awesome. Have caught pickerel by the dozens over the last 4 days. Got my first white and yellow today after watching many follow and traveling in groups. Should be real soon up this way. Saw 3 groups of guys fishing the head of my creek on 3 different occasions, but they never came by me so I never found out if things were any good. Didn't see much action out of them though. Hopefully, I'll have my Whaler in this week so I can venture up your way.

What? No photos? :28:

Might be time to get the yak wet... ;-)

Kevin, it's time. Seems like action is busting out all over our River. I guess we have about two months before things settle into the summer pattern.

Nice going Jeff. I'm so jealous of all you guys that are getting to fish. I'm thinking about going out this weekend with my kids so I'll post a report on Monday.

Black Walnut Creek's run kicked off today. Water temp jumped all the way to 60 this aft. in shallow water by a south-facing bank. Mighty fine!

What's the magic number? I was out today and North of Cedar Point and in Forked Creek, temperature was 53. Many pickerel still biting, but perch are few and far between.
