Well first let me start by saying. I really feel some things have gotten out of hand on this board. I’m really sorry to see this. My intentions I feel were good when I talked Brandon into putting the conservation board up. My hopes were that we could talk out the issues to get a better understanding of them from each other and we could also get a better understanding of where each other is coming from in the differing life styles we all come from. But I now see that is not what is happening. Instead of getting an understanding. All that is happening is name calling. That’s just plain wrong and will never help with getting each other’s help in solving the problems we all face in regards to the bays health. That is sad to see.
I also find myself in a position of having to defend my stances. In which I have never wavered. I don’t support commercial interests in the bay. But how can I ever make my opinion clear and get them to understand my position. If I never give them a chance to make their point and try to understand why they feel the way they do. Respect is something you give another human being. And when you respect each other you are on the way to having a better understanding of what needs to get done and how to approach it. You also may find that the person on the other side of the fence. May now be a partner in the fight. That was my hope. There is also a misunderstanding on me being in the fight. I have been going to meetings at DNR hearings sense the 60’s. Before some that are questioning me not going now were even born or were just small kids. And most of the issues that were talked about then are still being talked about today. No change. So yea I’m frustrated with the system and don’t go to meetings any more. Along with the fact I don’t live in Md. any more.
When I first started posting on tidalfish (it was not tf then) I enjoyed doing so and I stayed on it till my retirement. I didn’t have a computer at home so I stopped posting. After the urging of friends to get one and get back on I did. I will say I missed being here. But I will also add. That me not being here had no impacted on the board nor on my personal life. I have reread the thread that started me think and have come to this conclusion. I feel I really don’t need the hassles that have come with posting here now. So I will no longer do so. There are other boards out their where I can post with out the pressures of other issues. Where I can talk about fishing and helping others which is my passion. When friendships are jeopardized because of differing opinions. Then it is time to stop. So I am. It has been all together great to meet a lot of people that I met here. I wouldn’t change that part. But as I said disappointing as well. So I hope to see some of you guy out fishing.
