Hey guys,
After an ill fated attempt at rockfishing on opening day...and about 2 weeks of nothing but working on the boat...I finally have the boat running. Turns out it was a delicate blend of bad gas and incorrect timing in the beginning...replaced my ignition control module early on only to find out that the NEW module was bad. Anyhow, the thing runs like a top now so I'll be fishing soon.
When testing my boat right outside of Valentine Creek, on the eastern side of the channel in about 18-20 feet of water I hit a good # of marks. Big ones, little one, and stuff in between.
Are these the perch coming back into the river? Maybe some spawning rock mixed in for good measure?
I didn't have a chance to fish as I was preoccupied with the boat but you can bet I'll be out there soon...!!
