i have a suggestion....

let's begin a list of contacts for guest speakers.
most of the speakers that go to one chapter are at another chapter several months later.

good speakers are sometime hard to find and as we all know the really good speakers draw in a good following.
that following buys raffle and 50/50 tickets at the meetings so it is very important to get good speakers as often as possible.

having helped in obtaining speakers i know that it is sometimes difficult to get them.

let's see if we can get a list, maybe a "sticky" at the top of our board where we can list names, numbers and subjects for these speakers.

we could send them, maybe, to Frank and he could add them to the post
then when you run into a tough spot and need someone the research has been done for you.

just an idea.....any feed back?

this is how i envisioned this board working...sharing relevant infomation for the good of the MSSA!

I have asked several times for guest speaker names with no answer. If anyone knows good speakers, I would appreciate if they could let me know.

I suggest bringing this up at the Next BOD meeting.

Other chapter presidents should be your go-to source for info.

i'll bring it up at my next chapter meeting to see if it can be addressed at a BOD meeting.

it would be nice to have a pool of names, especially names other than charter capts.
the Captains are great but sometimes it gets a little "old" (for lack of a better word) having them back to back to back.
don't get me wrong it great to pick up pointers from them.

i'd like to get more speakers from DNR, NRP, USCG, US Wildlife or info on electronics, boat maintenance, home made lures, etc to spice things up

It's been brought up before to headquarters and there it dies  .

Let's fix it here-I'll post all of our speakers from the last year in a few days (need to dig them out). Skip

Hey Skip I attended the BOD meeting last night and one of the major topics for the evening was getting a list together of Guest Speakers.Almost 2 months ago you were going to post a list of your speakers for the last year,if they were posted I could have brought those up to the Chapter Presidents.I dont know if it will be too late but if you get the list together I will try to introduce it at next months meeting if you are unable to attend.

THANKS
Will

I just provided the main MSSA mine from Frederick. I have it in excel form so email me if you need it quicker than the next board meeting and I'd be happy to send it.

if trapshoot would apoligize to me for emailing me last year that I can't come to your meeting because I am not a member and also the obstruction of the bylaws of the MSSA,then I will get his chapter all of the guest speakers he needs for this year. The bylaws clearly states that any member, friend or foe may attend any chapter he or she wishes.I have 18 speakers that will show up to give lectures. They range from O.C.Md.,Delaware and other parts of Md.You can email me your responds.
