HARPOON

Rounded up the crew of the Harpoon for a 2 day overnighter on the Git-R-Done Virginia Beach Fishing, Virginia Beach Deep Sea Sport Fishing Charters (http://www.gitrdonesportfishing.com/)
with Capt. Trick Standing. We fished down south around the 730 in 150 fathoms. Pretty good Yellowfin and Mahi bite but the real story was the number of Makos in the area. We saw at least 10 during the day and broke off one early on. As night approached we put over the chum bags and started chunking with butter fish. We then rigged some Mackerel and attached some flashing lights to these Baits. Here's where it gets crazy. As I drop the Mackerel down something picks it up. I lock him up and a 100lb plus Mako skys right next to the boat, hook up time 60 seconds. Dr. J was getting ready to take a shower but he waits for us to boat this fish. Rig goes back in the water something picks it up within 5 minutes lock him up and another 100lb Mako skys right next to the boat. Dr J walks out after his shower and can't believe were hooked up again. Anyway during the next couple of hours we catch and release 6 Makos 4 Brown sharks and a 13 foot 300lb Hammer Head. Everyone on board got release citations for vaious sharks. Next morning we're fishing by 5:30 catching some nice Yellowfins and a few more Mahis before calling it a day.
Beautiful weather for the entire trip and fishing with Capt Trick on his new 59 foot Git-R-Done was as good as it gets. Good fishing. Ross Harpoon
