Looking for any good tips. I'm staying at Gullway Townhomes on the water bayside. I have my own pier w boat lift. Are there some good Flounder holes close to me or do I still need to run down to Thorofare and the Inlet. I'm not familiar with running boat down there , except @ the inlet area. I'm taking my 23 ft. C-Hawk down there and don't want to run up on a sand bar

Any info would be helpful

Thanks

Phil (lily)

Ill give it a shot eventhough Im sure theres others that can provide more details. As you said the best area would be the inlet, backside of AI or the throughfare. The throughfare isnt not that far from you and while the bay is shallow its pretty well marked, pretty easy to pic up the markers and stay in the channel. Stop in at Bahia and ask for the cheap little maps they give out to help people that rented boats, a young dockhand would probably be the best to ask. If they still have them, they were cheap little maps but gave you the location of some holes out off the 22nd st and throughfare. A little farther south but north of the bridge you can drift from 15th st(harbor island) all the way down to the bridge, close to the land. Its a pretty good and straight drift.

If your not comfortable with that you can stay close and cast piers and pillings or find the channel to drift right at front at 28th st all the way up to the convention center, they all should hold fish and should get some action without going anywhere.

Hope this helps as Im doing it from memory, havent fished down there in a while.
