I wanted to give the synthetic 2 st. oil a try to see if it in fact does smoke less. Currently using the Evinrude brand for ~$20/gal (BTW-I have a 1997 200 Evinrude) and bought the Penzoil fully-synthetic for ~$24/gal.
After buying the penzoil then reading the earlier post on cheap vs. good 2 st. oil, I have the following questions.
1-Have you guys found that the synthetic smokes less?
2-Is it OK to mix synthetic with what is currently in there (~1/2 gal), or
3-Should I run as low as possible first and add it, or
4-Should I use a qt. maybe of a synthetic blend then the full synthetic?
