Well We finally got offshore and the forecast was not too far off. We left out of Rudee inlet at 0430 into the dark headed to the fingers. It was rough for a 23 CC so we slowed down to 28mph and took our time and it was not too bad. We arrived on the fingers and put out 5 lines, and pick up a few skipjack's (fun but no meat on the table). We decided to run to Norfolk since the seas laid down real nice and ran to Norfolk at 38mph. Enroute we ran into the scatered weed line, which looked promising but nothing after 30 minutes of working the area. So we moved on and arrrived near the trawer and put some lines out and no joy for 45 minutes. We decided to move to a drop off from 700-1000 ft and put the lines back out. Picked up another skippy but no meat again again. We worked the area for another hour and decided to run into the fingerers again and see if we could find anything home under some wood debries we worked earlier. Picked on some chicken dolphin for a bit, which was fun on light test line and chunk bait. I was realy hoping for big brother to be around and get lucky but no joy. We arrive back to the dock at 6pm back home to Quantico by 10 Pm. All in all it was just great to be back out the water with two awesome friends. Sry no pics we all left the cameras at home (Ughh).

Sounds like you had about the same luck we did. I live up in Woodbridge and go down just about every other weekend. You must have been beat doing that drive and fishing all in the same day!! Maybe next time you head out we can get together. Still learning the new boat and by far no expert at the offshore game, but we are learning.
