I'm thinking about fishing out of OC Saturday for TT or SB over the wrecks or maybe striper if I can find them in close.
Is anyone else thinking about giving it a try?

What's up Bill haven't heard from you in awhile. How was your season?
I'm gonna make the trip down. The weather inshore looks about 10-15knts 3's and 4's until late Saturday. The weather offshore looks downright scary at 20-30knts buiding to 25-35knts and up to 11' seas. So this might end up a tog trip instead of a sea bass/tog trip. If nothing else I'll fish the inlet jetty. :fishing2:

I woke up late and I incorrectly followed the route 50 detour so it was after noon before I made out on the water. The inlet was really rough but around 1 mile out the seas settled out to 3's-4's that weren't close together. I tried some inshore wrecks and reefs first. I marked what looked like bait fish but didn't score a single nibble. Worked my way out to around 15 miles but figured it was too late in the day to travel as far as I needed to go to find fish. Worked my way back in looking for bait and birds, but no dice. Didn't run South because it was 4pm (and had been snowing for hours) and I didn't want to be caught in a snow storm in the dark with a wind forecast of 20-30knts for the evening. So my first trip of the '08 was a skunk, I think I'll try the CBBT on my next trip.

In close the water was about 40-41 degrees F. At 15 miles the water was 43-44 degrees F. So I imagine if I had made it out on the water early enough to run 50-60 miles to deep water the temps may have been a couple degrees warmer than that.
