Temp Gauge

Took my boat out for the first time Sat and the temp gauge was showing it at 60 - 100? I just had a new water pump and thermostat put in. Eight year old boat, but could it be the gauge? Can you tell buy what is coming out the pee hole, what the temperature it's
running at?

Would anyone know if the temperature coming out of the pee hole is close to
what you see on your gauge?

dont' tyou what to teel ya but try to un hook the battries and restart the gauges, unhook the battrie

Ken, it's likely time to buy a new gauge. Did you run it before the new wp was installed? Leave all the wiring connected and pull the sensor out of the engine block, turn on the key and dunk the sensor in a pan of boiling water to test. As for the tell-tale temp, some tell-tales only indicate that water is being pumped while the actual cooling water is discharged through the prop.
