What do you guys think about mixing glitter in with your epoxy head cement when finishing clousers or deceivers? Is this overkill or overdressing, or could anything like this help?
I ask because while at Walmart last night, my GF picked up some glitter in the crafts dept. I mixed it with 5min epoxy when finishing some bucktails I am tying for fluke rigs. I think they turned out nice...??

Dave, when I epoxy coat heads, I usually add glitter. It makes them look nice from an artistic point of view, but I'm sure the fish don't care either way. ;-)

Your flies and bucktails look great! Nice work! The only way I think they will look better is when they are stuck in the jaw of a nice fish!
With respect to the glitter. I've done the same thing and like both of you, I liked it but don't think the fish care.

I agree. It's art for art's sake; the fish don't care.

real nice patterns, cant go wrong with a little glitter too.
I have about a dozen different colors of glitter I either mix into the wet epoxy or sprinkle like seasoning.

the real test is fish glitter vs non side-by-side for 39 days then draw your own conclusion...honestly i had preconceived notion and on the 37th day things started to form a pattern, the last two days were nothing less than spectacular as a true winner emerged
ironically the results from a follow up blind taste test were non-conclusive
that's why i always recommend the 39 fishing test...the only negative i've seen or read about using that method is if you miss one day...that's correct 24 hjours, the test must be started fresh otherwise the data becomes skewed...ask me how i know
as the NE longliners woujld say when pulling up...time to 'mug up'
cherio!

So how would you perform your regression testing? Also, why only 39 days? Is there something Biblical about 40 days on the water?
