Has anyone used the lucanus jig from shimano for anything? It looks great but I only hear of people using the butterfly jig.

Yes! They work great but the skirts get tore easily and there are kits to replace the skirts according to the shimano catalog. I improvised mine and put a 5 ought assist hook on it. We fished the 5oz squid pattern last week off Hatteras and caught wahoo, gaffers and blackfin tuna on them. Good luck.

I ordered a 7oz jig as well, but it's on back order. Called today and was told that Shimano hasn't sent out any 7oz jigs at all yet, waiting on production.
