Hey guys, had a deal I couldnt pass up on a Lowrance LMS 527C...bought it, can return it, but was wondering if anyone had it and what they think of it? The internal GPS antenna worries me, but I have another GPS I can use so that isnt too big a deal...got it with the idea of adding radar later.
thanks in advance.

It' a nice unit and the internal antenna will work well if it has a fairly clear view of the sky.
As for radar, I started with a seven inch screen, and very soon went to the 10.4 screen.
For radar the bigger screen the better. The five inch screen for radar for me would just
be to small. Radar is an expensive item. If you add radar think big screen.
Other than that you should be happy with the 527, very good fishfinder.

Not sure about that unit but I am impressed with Lowrance and their customer service. I had an Eagle (made by Lowrance) go bad last year which was one year out of warranty. I called them to send the unit in and the girl asked for the modle number and some other stuff and gave me some tracking number. She said they would warranty the unit and get it back within 2 weeks. Before I hung up the phone I had to ask her how she knew when I purchased the unit or if it was still under warranty. She replied that by the modle number the unit could not be more then a couple of years old and it should not have failed and they stand behind their product. I sent it in and had it back the following week with a note extending the warranty on the new unit something like 90 days or so. I posted this on thehulltruth and several people commented that Lowrance had treated them the same way.
