Leaving for the Key Saturday. First time fishing. DO I need a permit and can i get it online

as a non resident, yes, you need a license and yes you can get it on line at MYFWC.com lobster is out of season so need for that and unless you intend to keep a Tarpon ( why would you) you do not need the Tarpon tag.....do stop at the best place on the way down and pick up acopy of the regs...things like putting a Goliath Grouper in the boat to take pictures will make you VERY popular with the E-force guys and gals as will putting a Tarpon in the boat with out the Tarpon tag...Fl res can fish from shore w/o a license...step on a boat and they need a license as we;ll except for head boats...

a friend has a boat, does it have a licence, like in Md.,
or do we need to get a licence too.

No boat licenses as in MD/VA each person on the boat needs a license...check the MTFWC site for all the details
