I'm in the process of replacing the floor of my boat and i am fiberglassing the seams and edges of the new wood. but i was wondering if i can coat the rest of the wood w/ some of that brush on truck bedliner stuff and then cover it all w/ carpet.

So the next two questions are.

Where are you in the project?

How long do you want it to last?

Jim,

Two questions come to mind.

1. Can it be recoated in a year? 10 years?

2. What can you paint over it with if the company goes out of business?

That is why I asked the how long do you want it to last question. Not the finish but the floor and/or boat.

A few teaspoons of clean sand in your last coat of floor paint will make it non skid and you can sand or recoat it later with confidence. Of course there are professional grades of non skid additives out there also.

BTW I saw what I think was a Simmons sea skiff at the boat ramp at Messick Point (Poquoson, VA) yesterday. It looked like a fun boat to use.
