Its a late reply, and I hope you guys are out there now as I type banging on the spades. Good luck, happy birthday and be sure to report back and let us know how you did...

Remeber to take your time lining up your shots on the spades. It doesn't pay to shoot just one spade at a time...

Make sure you "secure" your diving area before another boat lands right over or right next to you (hooks hurt and props make you bleed) IF you're the first on that site. One way to do this is to dive flag your boat high first so it can be seen then get a line out that floats (50' +-) from your stern with a float/dive flag at the end of it and hunt inside that perimeter (from your bow to the dive flag) for your own safety. This is like your own space and others for the most part will respect that.
Check fist for the best diving side of the islands for curent, wind and best vis. right from the boat before setting up your perimeter.
When beginners, stay close with ONE "on point" loaded and ready to go and the other just behind for help/support taking turns as fish is speared.
Make a list for legal size/limits and have a good ID of your targets in the area. There are small slates you can use and hang on your gear to keep track on this when the "water heat up"
If you can't tell size or ID your taget just enjoy the show and move right on there will be more.
Bring extra tip, sligs and keep an eye on limits.

Happy B-Day keep it safe!

All the freedivers should meet and go together, then we can get a couple boats and make a nice blocked off set up. :bigfish:

There wasn't much going on at the Anglo African last Saturday. Saw a few spades and a couple triggers but none would bite the hook. Maybe you will have better luck with the spear.
