South Florida Peacock Bass

A friend of mine is going to South Florida for Peacock Bass tommorrow, kinda last minute thing and has never fished for them. He wanted to know what do people typically use for baits this time of year. Crankbaits?? Spinnerbaits?? Topwater??

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Best thing for him to do is go buy some live shiners from a bait store. They just can't resist them.Right now they are bedding and are right up on the banks, he can sight fish for them.There are some big males peacocks around right know also. They are some tough fish with a bad attitude.
