Deep Drop Trip - 1/30/09.

85 sea bass, 4 citation tile fish, 275 dog sharks (many triples), 1 very long eel (Max could not drift this one), and 4 blue fish.

Many were caught on butterfly jigs - good day.

Great video. I was out there that day, perfect day to leave the stripers behind and deep drop. Someone told me the best deep drop bait is strips of conger eel.

I'm not going to be trolling much for tuna this summer afer jigging up (and catching) 24 blackfin tuna in Hatteras in one hour (back in November) - first try too.

Max and I could not believe it on the way home, and we almost did not try it - we were gonna settle for another load of dolphin/no tuna trolling again.

And by the way, as you know, everything eats a butterfly jig.

We have caught amberjack, king mackeral, tile fish, sea bass, bluefin tuna, blackfin tuna, blue fish, false albacore, and the list goes on.

I cannot wait for this summer - last summer sucked out of here for tuna - I wish I had tried the jigging last summer.
