Have a small aluminum boat that after years of use,has a bunch of leaks.Although I guess I could use some synthetic patch material,I'm think that new rivets would work best.I have know idea as to what tools are required or how to proceed.Any tips would be appreciated.

As has been discussed here before, because of corrosion beware using different metals, i.e. aluminimum for hull and something different for rivets. In the list below, use only metals that are close to aluminum. Aluminum and stainless are close, so ss should be OK.

Mercury
Monel
Nickel
Bronze (silicon)
Copper
Brass (red)
Bronze (phosphor)
Tin
Lead
Steel (stainless)
Iron
Steel (mild)
Aluminum
Cadmium
Galvanized (iron and steel)
Zinc
Magnesium
