The commission just voted and for 2009 the regs are 5 fish at 19 inches with no closure.

Odd, I just got a message from someone close to the VMRC who says the decision was suppose to be after the time this was first posted. I was also told the polls indicate they may be going to the 18.5 5 2 week closure in July...

Well RG, all I can say is your source is wrong. One surprising thing is that no one from the Eastern Shore showed to make a public comment.

It's not a bad rule. Could have been worse. What it does mean it that 99.9% of the early river fish I catch will be 18.9 inches. Just like last year. Oh well.

Glad to hear they have made the decision,,, hopefully last years 18 7/8 grew another inch... I had to release 20 in a day all over 18 but under 19 ...

flonder reports could come in as early as this weekend. Flounder are in Lynnhaven year around.
