We will be making the trip down from VA in mid July and would like to get out and show my son there are other fish than stripers, croakers and flounder. Would like to fish the shallows but don't know if that is the right time of the year. How about any recommendations on guides.
Any help will be appreciated.

I just got back from there three weeks ago. The snook are running the beach. We caught a bunch without a guide. Stop in the Baitbox on Sanibel Island, they can point you in the right direction. We spent a couple days with the Capt. Bob who runs windswept adventures (www.windsweptadventures.com). He was a joy to fish with. We were focusing on tarpon which didn't want to cooperate, but I guess that is fishing. Good Luck.
