Went out and fished yesterday and it was slow for me trolling the rattling rouges and saw some buddies on the river near rays beach and they were slow trolling in a john boat just using the trolling motor using a grub , one day white with red tail was hot one day a green metal flake with 1/2 oz. or so jig head. So they are out there , I don't have a trolling motor on my boat because I mostly saltwater fish out in the bay so I couldn't troll slow enough for it to work for me have heard of a few 8 - 10 pounders which is a pretty nice fish for the river. Next time I go thinking about doing some chunking with cut bait as I saw so nice fish on the fishfinder laying on the bottom on the edge of the channel

Thanks for the post. Several have been caught from Rays Beach to Bennets Creek. Hot spot has been Wiccacon Creek either side. Most caught have been on jig and grub slow trolling but as the water warms your baits will be the deal. Good Luck
