Its a cold and dreary day so I figured I would post some images of wading birds that I have shot over the past few years. The great egret on the branch with its wings open (3rd down) was shot 7 years ago when I was 14. This was the first real picture that I had shot up to that point and one of the main reasons I got into photography.

Some of these were shot with digital and some with film.

Jay,

Great pictures!

If I'm photographing birds at around 300 - 500 feet, will a 300mm lens
produce good photos? Will the subject be framed well?

Can you post a shot that was taken at that range with 300mm?

Thanks.
