What type of fishing are you interested in?

Best bet would probably head down to Port Canaveral. I guess it is about an hour give or take from Orlando. Google/web search Port Canaveral fishing. Varying size boats run out of there. Only about 17 miles out to decent fishing. Also some good inshore/near inshore. Big tarpon and kings are near inshore now in that area. You could also sight fish reds with a charter in Mosquito Lagoon. Good luck.

Contact Capt Tom Van Horn about Mosquito Lagoon fishing. He is a great guide up that way and the redfishing there is excellent this time of year. His reports are on here also for his web site. It's only 45 minutes from Orlando and he can provide you with a great day on the water.

Check out Scott Nichols in Titusville or Russ Shirley in Tampa. Being in Sea World you can go either direction, Russ is on the Gulf is an excellent guide and Scott fishes the Mosquito Lagoon, Banana River and Indian River. Both know the areas well.

For Mosquito Lagoon definitely go with Scott Nickels. I’ve had 10+ trips with him and he always puts me on fish!

Just remember if you hire Scott site unseen you are hiring him for his fishing skills not good looks. Make sure if you hire him you tell him I said that. He wears his hair long and beard for catching mosquitoes.

Also if you select Mosquito Lagoon and Scott be advised there is a reason they call it mosquito lagoon. If you fly fish and take your own gear have your rod put together and be ready to go once you exit the vehile. You'll find out why they call it mosquito lagoon. Once on the water you're fine.
I probably only 30 to 45 min from Orlando on the B line express.
