O.K what started out to be a good idea went bad quickly. My engine decal on the back of the motor was peeling off. Soooo I figggered it would not be a big deal to peel off the rest of it. I got out the wife's blow dryer to heat it up, to make it just peel right off,and with and a trusty razor blade, just to get the edges started mind you, I now have a nice bare spot, paint and decal came off. Whadddda I do now? Repaint and let it go? Hell, I never look at it while I'm driving the boat anyhow, or go to a graphics guy and have some cool decal made up to cover up my screw up? Any ideas?

I would check with a graphics person first. I recently had some cowling work done on a F250. When I checked to see what a replacement set of decals would cost, it was unreal. I think the stickers are the most expensive part of the motot to replace when it comes down to what they have in cost of raw materials. Check the Yamaha website for pricing, but make sure you're sitting down when you do it.

Thanks brismith, I'll put something over it. May just get a can of touch up paint and spray it if I can find the right color. There's a couple of chafe mark on the lower unit I'de like to take care of also.

Put a sticker of your favorite football team on the spot and be done with it. Set a new trend and go with it.

If you go that route, DO NOT use the Moeller paint you find in the marine stores. It's matches terribly. The old Tempo paint is better...if you can find it.
A company called Colorrite makes the OEM paint for Yamaha. I've uesd that too and was less than impressed...especially given the cost. :eek2:
