Went to Lake Moultrie last week for a couple of days. Man you talk about wide water....... it's 12 miles round and it made my 20ft Lund look like a bathtub toy when the wind got up. We had to cut our four day trip to 1 !/2 days dew to stormy weather but it was nice when we did get to fish. We caught about 40 fish and had 4 within tents. of a pound weighing 32lbs. and had a couple big one come unhitched. If the fishermen down there didn't keep so many to eat, the Santee would be as good on big fish as the James is. The average decent size down there that can be caught pretty often, is in the 30 lb range where on the James it's 40's and 50's A lady sportswriter caught a 90 something lber about a month ago and I know a guy that caught a 40 and 80 lber at the same time by himself and got both of them in without help. Now I'm at a delima as to witch direction to go on my next trip.....North or South.

The answer is easy....THE JAMES! We treat people well and don't look at you funny when you throw back a nice fish.

I think everyone should fish anywhere but the James judging how crowded it was Sunday.

I would have to pick santee-cooper that is one fun place to fish & you sure don't have to fight for a place to fish it is huge. It is one of my all time favorite places to just get away:thumbup:

If you are going to eat them I would also say Santee.

There isn't anything like the slam down peel out runs like you get on the James. Knowing it may be a monster each time one peels out and screams your drag.
