i have a garmin 320c.
every year without fail, the connectors int he power line corrode during the winter. i eve tried putting protective grease in them this winter, no go.
anyone else have this issue? so far ive been able to get a free replacement from noaters world, im going soon before they close up :)
its more annoyance they anything else.

Mine corrode every winter even though the boat has the curtains up and no water gets near them, even with the grease on them. Never caused a failure in the unit though. Just clean them up as best I can and put grease on it every time I notice it getting thin.

I would suggest a few moisture absorbers around the boat. BW will sell them. Put one in your Ebox, console, where ever. It will help all of your metalwork.

Most of the electronics garmin is shipping these days have rubber caps for the power cords. You may be able to get one from Garmin.

its 15' whaler,everything is exposed. and i already asked about a rubber cap, they dont make one, or so i was told

I had the same problem and this is what worked for me. I buy a the decatant bags, place them in a plastic sandwich bag and wrap the bag around the end of the plug and tie off with a rubber band. That stopped the problem! I put it back on every time I come back from fishing and replace the decatent as needed.
