Going to be tying up some large weighted deceiver type flys and Half and halfs on 3/0 to 4/0 hooks and on Jig style hooks specificaly for large striped bass.
Anyone have a recomendation for specific styles of hooks? Ive used 2/0 short shank saltwater hooks with some success but want a larger hook. I have 4/0 long shank hooks that are giant and used them bend back style and didnt like that very much.
Not sure what size jig hooks I had been using but they worked well on clousers and half and halfs I just need a bigger stronger hook with a wider hook gap.

Gamakatsu SL12-S ... also sold as "Trey Combs Big Game" hooks. Owner "AKI" as my second choice.
A striper of 30 lbs will laugh at most jig hooks. Eagle Claw 413 jig hook "if" you feel lucky.

If you're looking for jig hooks These are just a few of the ones available. There are a lot of different brands that make heavy wire hooks. They may not be salt water hooks, but they should do the trick. The Eagle Claw are realitively cheap per 50 or 100, and a lot sharper than the Mustads.

For a jig hook, check out the Gamakatsu 60 degree wide gap, heavy jig hook as well as the Owner version that JerryLC posted.
For flies, check out the Owner 5320 Spinner Bait Hook, or even the Mustad 32606N or 32608N Spinnerbait hooks.
These are not saltwater hooks, but they're real strong & sharp!

MUSTAD Circle Streamer
I use them mostly in size 4, 1, and 1/0. The 2/0 and 3/0 hooks are quite large, but even the size 4 will catch large stripers (and even 12lb blues without wire leader).
It takes a little getting used to the hook set, but rarely do you lose a fish once its on.
