The club has donated equipment in the past to help provide fishing rods & tackle to various sites around the lake (such as campgrounds) so that kids wanting to fish may borrow the equipment for free. They are in need of rod and reels, specifically closed face reels. If anyone would like to bring equipment to donate at the meeting, we will be awarding Angler of the Year points towards donations as follows:
1 point per rod donated.
1 point per reel (preferably closed face).
3 points per combo (preferably with a closed face reel).
There will be a max of 9 points awarded for donated equipment (just shy of a first place tournament win). So, if not for the points, please donate to help a kid go fishing and keep the sport alive for future generations.
Thanks,
Scott

please list the names of all donaters. and weather they decline the points.ITS ABOUT THE KIDS NOT THE POINTS.
Scott, I may miss the meeting but plan on bringing some combos and separates to the weigh-in.
John, The points thing was suggested to generate some interest. I'm sure if anyone wanted to donate anonymously it would not be that difficult. If it's just for the kids, why would you want a list of names? I personally like a little healthy competition. Lord knows I'd never catch enough fish in the tourney to get 9 points!!

:helpsmilie:I got an update from Chris Powell with the USACE and he said their needs are for closed face reels now. They have sufficient rods but are in need of more reels. He will have someone coming to pick up equipment from RJ’s Saturday at weigh in. :helpsmilie:If you can please bring any equipment so he can get it ready for the lake parks because they open in April. There will be kids that would like to :fishing2: this year too and need our :helpsmilie: to make it possible. I look forward to seeing you all at weigh in. Good luck to all in the tournament. Tight lines all!
