View Full Version : experience with local pwc dealers?
We are in the market for a jet ski and are looking at Yamahas at Whelan's Marine and the Kawasakis at Xtreme Power sports in Kilmarnock. both look like good products - have you had any experience pro/con with either of these dealers?

My dad bought his Robolo R305 from Whelan's Marine last april. Have had great service from them. Very good people to deal with. The boat is there now for some warranty work.

We got our Robalo from Whelan's last April and they have been great to deal with the couple of times that we had to call them or take the boat in for warranty work last month. Keith and his crew are top notch and I have not read any bad things about them. I know that they had a stack of PWC's in the crates back in January waiting for some buyers.
I have a friend that has a 2005 Yamaha 3 seater and they have had no problems with it in over 110 hours of use.

We've dealt with the Whelans for over 20 years and find them honest as the day is long. You can't go wrong with them.
But do you REALLY have to get a jet ski? Too many of those obnoxious things on the Bay and all it's tributaries. How about a kayak instead?
I hear you! We have two kayaks that get a lot of use. Also have a 16 year old boy so you can figure out the rest!

Have a yamaha jet ski and love it. No problems runs great. Buy more than you think you need. We use ours for pulling skis and tubes and its ideal. Although we did not buy ours from Whelans they were very competitive on price and I have a lot of friends who use them for service and all are very happy. Hope it helps.

Should have gone to the Capital Boat show in Chantilly. Whelens was set up with alot of jet skis with cheap sale prices. I wish the economy was better I could have talked my wife into the Stieger Craft 23 Ft. that they had on sale. It kills me every time I put my boat in at whelens looking at that boat, wishing.

I bought my bike from Xtreme Power Sports and they were great to deal with, I couldn't make it up there the day that we finished the deal so Ernie delivered the bike to me at work free of charge without me even asking.

I bought a Mule from Ernie and he's a trooper, drove halfway across the state to pick up one equipped the way I wanted it, plus he threw in a free bedliner. Service there is right costly though, like $95 an hour shop rate.
