I'll be in Ft Lauderdale for a week in the middle of March and then driving to Tampa area to meet the family before returning home. I was looking for some advice on......

1) some ideas for 1-2 hours of fishing nightly in the Ft Lauderdale area (I'll be located on NE 17th Ave and 6th St.)

2) I'd also like to get a full day while I'm there, probably with a guide, but I'm wondering if I should look in that same area or wait until I get to the Tampa area? Are the fisheries vastly different?

There's a pier in Lauderdale by the Sea which is between
Pompano and Ft lauderdale, never fished it while I was there.
Ask a local about a bar called The Ocean Blue,it's a little
neighborhood sports bar with the best seafood I may have
ever had,and it's prepared in front of you.
But if you don't ask,you won't find it.

I charter from Palm Beach. at that time, you might find good king mackeral fishing (the 20-50 lb fish have been here for about 10 days now), dolphin, possible shot at a sail or 2, maybe a wahoo, big cudas & sharks on the inshore wrecks & amberjacks on the deeper wrecks. rod-bending has been very good lately on all or some of the above on almost every trip.
