Over the last two winters my furnace has developed a vibration when the temps are cold ouside.After awhile it goes away when it warms up.I don't fnow if it goes away because the temp outside is warmer or the flue or fire box has warmed up.It acts like the furnace (flue)is drawing to hard.The vibration is coming from somewhere in the box.I would appreciate it if anybody could give me ideas.The furnace works fine and I have it cleaned and serviced every year.

I'm not a furnace guy, however if I had a hot air system that had a vibration problem the first place I would look is at the fan blades, second, both front and rear fan bearings

Thanks for the idea Jim C.I will surely check the fan blades and anything else in that area.It sounds like the vibration is higher up in the fire box where no moving parts are.I haven't had no luck with something that should be so simple.
In addition;
A bad belt will cause vibs. Does yours have a belt driven fan??
Also, dampers can vib in the airflow. They're usually a good ways downstream from the furnace though.
Good Luck,

Google (fan vibration) you will get lots of ideas, Google search engine supplies a wealth of good info.

ABSOLUTELY!!:yes::yes:
It can be a little tricky to get the Search Words just right, just don't hesitate to try a little diffent phrase.
GOOGLE is a great and seemingly endless resource.

Try this, during the summer when your heating system isn't being used, remove the motor with the fan attached (if you can and as you mentioned no belt). Find a competent electrical or machine shop and have them look at it..or do you know anyone who works at a power plant?

I have had this problem before with ,janitrol and goodman gas furnaces ,1 the burner had crack in it causing cross fire,this sounded like loud bumping and thumping .second one was cracks in heat exchanger,this
sounded like, buzz and banging noise also made noise when cooling down after cycle . both units had to much gas pressure. good luck hope this helps.
