Here in Hampton there is a new gallery exhibit called "Art of the Decoy" -Chesapeake Bay Decoys. It is located at the Hampton History Mueseum, and it is a really nice exhibit. We have just a few pics and info about the gallery at
Jim Baugh Outdoors TV (http://jimbaughoutdoors.blogspot.com/)
It is worth seeing for sure, lots of history and some real Decoy treasures. Amazing what the value of some of these Decoys are, quite amazing.

One of my Grandfathers blackduck decoys sold for $69,000 and a goose decoy went for over $300,000 several years back.

"Stephen B. O'Brien Jr. Fine Arts, Boston, announced the record-shattering private sale of A. Elmer Crowell's preening pintail drake decoy and sleeping Canada goose decoy for a record-setting $1.1 million each"
Now there is a decoy! My father has one in his collection that would be close to the amount above carved by his gradfather, Harry V. Shourds. It should be in the museum in New Jersery.

Do you carve ? If not you may want to take it up. Your Greatgrand's skill may be in your genes.

Yes, I carve. Not as much as I used to because of the addition of three kids this year. I was always known for the duck and goose calling in the national competitions.

Doing great Brian. I was talking to some guys about you the other week. Said they loved you calls and then I told them I knew you from way back in your pre-call making days.
We have custody of the wife's brothers kids. That is why three in one year. Two, four and now six year old...argghhh. Kills the time in the blind and boat at that age.
Our duck season was incredible this year. We had more ducks than I can ever remember. We shot limits many times and had a ball with the gadwall and scaup. I have three blinds and my buddies have several others that are great places. We will have to get you there next season.
