Hello,

I have a Garmin 498C GPS and like using the map page but the map doesn't move with the boat. I always have to pan to keep the boat in the center of the map. Is there a function on the GPS that the screen automatically moves with the boat or am I stuck panning as the boat moves?

Thanks, Joey

The only reason I can think of that would cause that would be hitting the directional pad(4 way arrow)while underway. This allows one to look elsewhere on the charts and would be evident by a cursor that is controlled by the directional pad. Hitting the "QUIT" button should return it to normal operation.

If that's not it...I don't know. Garmin (http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/us/support) has a pretty good support network on their website.

Hope this helps,
James

I also have the 498C, but the map moves with the boat. When you are in the map, try and hit "quit" to see if the panning mode is terminated.
