I wasn't really expecting to fish today, but got a call from my neighbor, Tom and he wanted to try for some flatfish...sounds good to me. We left Little Creek around 1030 and caught the last of the flood tide near the curve at the CBBT. It was ALL YOU WANTED...sharks that is:D. As the afternoon wore on and the tide started to ebb a little stronger the bite started. First a single here and there then two at a time. It was a good bite from about 200 until 400 then it shut down. We managed 9 fish with 2 keepers up to 21.5".
Baits were standard flounder bucktail rigs with squid strips in white and chartreuse and also caught a couple on a naked hook w/squid strip. We were ocean side of the curve, water temp was 46.5 and the best depth seemed to be around 33'.
Sure was fun settin' the hook into a few flatties this afternoon...looking forward to dinner:clap:. Thanks, Tom for the trip!!

Nice work Rebel! I was there last wednesday catching sharks too..in the fog. Then got a couple of flat ones for the cooler as the fog lifted. I had a temp of 44-45. Water was clean

My brother makes me keep and cut em for him when he comes to fish. They fillet out very easy, steaking them just gives you cartilage to dodge on the plate, skin too.The fillets are white on the horndogs, like they're already cooked.Bro sez the doggy fillets stay real sweet in the freezer and he prizes them highly(he's a very picky guy about food).I do my part by staying patient about the whole deal, cause I'd rather just not mess with em,but I do split em open to release guts and pups while they are still wiggling on deck, because those guts have ammonia which can affect edibility. The meat is prettier than one might imagine.
