I saw the weather window and started to try to plan something (hoing with someone or chartering a big boat). Got to work, looked at the calendar and workload....all I got to say is:
Having a job sucks sometimes.
Good luck if you go buddy.

That is true. I am grateful to have a job as I know others are not so fortunate during these times.

I have been down OI for the last week and the weather has F-ed us everyday, there were several days one day out that looked good, and at midnight the forecast changed to NE 20, the Atlantic is really churned up right now from the last few gales over the NE and even the calm days, Friday wind at KDH was 1knot out of the West, the swell was breaking every couple seconds on the beach from the NE, the inlet was a disaster everyday.
Good luck with the weather, but keep in mind the gales in the NE, they are making it very difficult.

Forecast is shaping up for Tuesday. If it holds will be down in a Grady named COLD HARBOR. Any buddy boats? With the current forecast, I'm a little concerned about HI Inlet. We might elect to put out at OI and skirt the beach to Diamond Shoals. For those of you who havn't done this, it's not a bad ride. We did this in Bill's (Hit-n-Run) boat a few weeks ago and it was not a long or bad ride as I would have thought. Out of OI, 3 or 4 miles off the beach all the way to the Cape puts you on a crash couse with the 230 or 280 rocks off Hatteras, well close enough. I'm thinkin if we get the big West blow thats forecasted, skirtin the beach should be the ticket. Anyone? Anyone?

Barry, the fish are now from the 480 & up. I would think by then OI would be an easy run. Heck the ocean laid out nice as of now on the Avalon peir cam. Might have been fishable after all today from OI. Im would guess Hatteras inlet is all swelled up though.
We will be there, went out monday and the NE blow started about an hour before the Hat. fleet found the fish, we decieded to turn back and go home with no fish than take the chance of swimming with em that night. Fish are definately above the 450 so we are going to give it another try out of OI on tues as long as the window holds, we will be on a 23 seacraft.

That window is so small, just don't hold your breath on that one. I wish you all get out, but after spending a solid week, last week waiting on weather and watching these forecasts, this forecast will slam shut, shortly. Don't get your hopes up.

I'm off work finally and everything's ready......except the water pump just blew out in my (wife's) SUV. I'm gonna try to get it fixed on Monday and fish Tuesday.
was great Oysters and Margaritas.........Yummmy, All while looking over the fence at the Bay. SO I think I have been convinced, that it will be fun times, to head out in to the deep blue yonder. Line it up I will give it a shot. If only the weather will turn nice and finally stay nice.
What a sport I am to let you talk me into having some fun:eek:. Hope your trip tomorrow works out but this weather can't make up its mind. I am ready for summer NOW !!!

We're going to HI....or OI....or HI.....or OI....or HI....or OI....or HI.....or OI.
I really don't know which will give the best yield. (all I want is 1 BFT!!!)
Just finished loading the coolers with ice and loading up the rods, we will be at oregon inlet at 530 to give it a try, I'm sure the fish are just south of the point by now, went last monday out of hatteras and they were already above the 500. Just hope the inlet won't be too snotty with that north wind. We will be in an old 23' seacraft. Hope to see ya there! Wouldn't waste your time driving that far south to ride back that far north in the boat! Just my 2cents though, good luck!

Yup, they are going to get whomped. We wouldn't go. We have fished the green side in those conditions after we got tired of taking water over the bow in the Stream, and done well on Kings and even the occasional Wahoo, although I haven't heard any reports of Wahoo yet. Oughta be a good day for a 50 footer, though.

Duck pier to the North and Cape Lookout to the South both reporting NE winds in the teens, depending on the current the Stream might be a little snotty but probably very fishable since i couldn't go.........

I talked to my boy Loop a little bit ago, while he was on his way home from OI. They caught 4 up to 200#'s, this was before noon. I am sure he will post a report when he gets home and settled. He said it was all you wanted below the Point out of OI.

Yeah they were just as thick again today. The fish are now in the blend from the 410 to the point. We never got above 480 & had to call it. Everyone was dead.:helpsmilie:
Acreas of fish Surfing down sea through the waves tops 3-10 or more at a time every where you looked. Any time we put a jig down it got hammered. Even in the greener water 45 fathoms on the 500 looking for bottom fish & still couldn't get away from them. Lots of bigger class fish around the 480-530 today for all.
I will do a report later but like I said before, if your on here reading this than I assume you love offshore fishing. No excuses, get out there before it's over! The fish are steady moving north. This is one of those bites you have to see to believe. Acres apon acres of Bluefin.:fishing2:
