I got snood line thumb working on my new snood line.:censored:
Most of my gear was obtained from Miller Island Crab Supply.:usa:
I would like to send props to the folks at snoodfeast.
We will see if the snoodline will outpreform my normal bull lip line.
I would appreciate suggestions on what bait to use.:helpsmilie:
What is your experience on the catch ratio between the snoodline
and regular knotted trotline.
Thanx fellas

Bull Lips are at best good around August,Sept when there are alot of small crabs around.
Don't start the season with when.
Get some bait bags and use Razor Clams or cut fish chunks best is fresh Herring or Menhaden.
Polecat did some research on snoods with bait bags a couple years ago.
Maybe he will post some info.

I have always used fresh chicken necks each week. For a 1200' rec line it's not bad at all to rebait everytime.

I but a 40# box and then cut them all into trotline sized pieces and freeze 120 pieces to a bag. I only take out what I am going to need for a trip to thaw.

I also freeze some bags of 10 whole necks for the traps. Out of a 40 pund box I can normally get 2 full ttotlines (1200') plus about 5 bags of 10 for the traps.

I can symapthize with the "SNOOD THUMB". I have made of couple of hundred for "on hand extras";-) in the last 2 weeks or so and thumb weare and tear is rough.

Using a snood I can normally fill a basket faster, maybe 2 hours instead of 2 1/2-3.

Do clams work in the mid bay area? I tried them in collapsable traps with no luck.
