Slipped out to put some more hours on the rebuilt motor, fished HRBT from about 1030 to 1230 almost slack tide, used different color gulp, mirror lures, not even a nibble, tried all the favorit holes/spots. Decided to go look for some live bait and just as I was going to throw the 10' net I noticed they were puppy drum. 2 or 3 schools. Played with them for several hours and was joined by a guy on a yak. I was spooking the school with my boat so I let him have some fun. He had what looked like an underwater video camera. I caught 5, snagged 2, had a bunch of bumps and followers but they seemed spooked. Could not quite figure out what they wanted. Both schools looked to be 75-100 strong. It was good to get out and the boat ran great again. I have about 20 more gallons to run through her before I can open her up. Next trip, togs! R/Chip. :D
