What's the deal with Walkers Dam on the Chic?
It's been a few years since I've been down that way and I never knew the locks were all tore up.
Anybody know what the reasoning was behind destroying it like they did?

The dam broke and washed them away. It will be a while before it gets fixed. You can still fish it from a boat.

What a shame.
How long ago did that happen?
Damn if it doesn't look like it was intentionally demolished.

They probably did. The dam wasn't safe to be on, so they may have destroyed everything to keep people off until the work is done. Might be another year. They worked on it quite abit last year to get is sured up so that they could work up a plan to repair correctly.

There was a hole that developed in the dam last spring. They( Army Corps) opened the locks so it wouldn't blow out. By the sounds of it ; It didn't work. I know when we fished Ed Allen's last spring; the water was so low it has ruined the lake fishing. Most of the creeks are gone and you had to be careful even on the main body due to it being really shallow.

WOW!
I haven't fished the lake in 30 years or so, but I would have liked to have seen that!
