I'll start off the New Year with a striper report of the rips 1/1/06.
Fished from the Stalker on New Years day with Captains Skip and Jeremy along with four other hardy anglers. We fished mostly Prissy and Overfalls rips out from Cape May. The final tally was 47 bass up to 30" with our limit of slot bass. We had lots of hits and misses and most drifts we caught bass. Sometimes we had doubles and even a couple of triples. White bucktails with chartruse twisters were the ticket.
For anyone interested, the Stalker will remain in the water and fishing every day till the stripes retreat. It's still red hot so give those guys a call and catch some early year stripers!
P.S.- water temp was 42*-44*.

Don- I hear ya. All the big pigs seem to have already left. The fish we were catching are probably resident fish. What's strange is that they are still catching some "good" sized fish even north of us. Go figure. You should be into hogs as we speak. Good luck with them. Happy New Year!

Maybe the Omega boats left them something to eat up there? No food...no fish.
