Croaker are in the lower potomac

Got out friday nite for a little croaker bite. Fished for about 2 hours and boated approx. 20 croakers. Nice sized fish around 16"s. Fished around Vir Mar beach on incoming tide. Bite was good in 4 to 5 feet of water. Maybe better elsewhere butt when you hit the honey hole on the first anchor, why search around. Shrimp was the bait of choice. eeerrrrrrrrrrr.........eeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:D

Garry, Good job of catching some croaker. I have not really fished for croakers in two years but this year plan to use the anchor more and do more bottom fishing this year.

just ate last of them croker sweeet onthe belly. going 2 need and reup on some friday night garry. just cant stay on the bite all night cuz u wont be no count sat am 2 many DLC

Will frozen shrimp work - or do you need fresh? Any bait stores on the VA side of the Potomac with fresh shrimp?

Frozen worked for us.. Food lion extra jumbo's were on sale two for one money.... But next time unless they are still on sale we will go to a smaller one. Scooped up a small container of smaller ones at RW's for 3.50, but have'nt had a chance to try em yet. Rw's were also frozen. The ones at food lion in the fresh seafood area also said "Frozen at one time" in fine print..

Frozen shrimp will work. I normally get them with the shell.
