Headed out in to the Raritan yesterday about 9:30am with 3 dozen fresh clams. We were set up and fishing by 10:00am. We proceeded to catch 35-40 fish over the next three hours. Only 5 of the fish were blues and the rest were stripers. We had about 7 or 8 that were over 28”, with the majority being between 25” and 28”. We had a few doubles and even a tagged striper. The tagged striper was 28” and was still bleeding so I believe it was just tagged. I thought fish were tagged higher on the back but this one was tagged below the spine. Since I thought it was just tagged I didn’t want to keep it. I also didn’t have anything to write with so I didn’t get the tag number. I will next time but it will probably never happen again. The weather was great and so was the fishing.
