My wife Lu and I spent a couple of hours on the water this morning with Capt. Chris Goldmark in Cape May NJ fishing the ebb tide. We fished structure on the beach outside the Cape May inlet and I caught 3 croaker on a flyrod (my first) on a small streamer that Chris ties. Croaker put up quite a nice fight--I thought I had snagged when I hooked the first one. We moved inside to a flat Chris like to fish and although we saw a few smaller resident stripers, we couldn't get close enough to them to get a shot.
It was quite a morning for wildlife: a coyote on the beach, dolphins attacking a huge school of bunker, rays, star fish and crabs on the flats. Not a bad way to start the week.
