when does the season open for they bay and rappahanock area ? im just confussed because people keep saying its opening this saturday ? :helpsmilie:

Saturday April 18th is opening of Trophy season for Maryland water on the Chesapeake Bay. Virginia Trophy season starts May 1st including the Rapp. It is confusing.

Sorry, I was replying in conjunction with Runs41's post.....yes according to the PRFC site the spring trophy season starts in the main stem below the 301 bridge April 18th.

The Potomac is open below the 301 bridge, but salt water licence is needed Definitely read the PRFC website... ( http://www.prfc.state.va.us/sports/sport_fishing_blue_sheet_.htm )

Here is the summary:
Spring Season
April 18 through May 15
Below Harry W. Nice Bridge (Rt. 301)
28” minimum
1 per person
No high-grading allowed
No live eel. No more than 2 hooks
